My contribution to the Design as Writing publication (2020)
I took the theme of space as a literal term, measurement, space and feeling. I was first intrigued by the concept of something as immense as outer space. The huge distances between things and its consequences. However, this is happening out there far away, it has been happening for a while and will continue to happen after we are all gone. Big distances are also happening here, now, in this piece of time, on this speck of dirt, during a pandemic in 2020. The Galileoscope Assembly Manual juxtaposes these themes and creates a series of ironic metaphors, analogies and critiques through Flarf. The seed texts were taken from forums, websites, blogs, etc.
